 ALBASA 45th Annual General Assembly

 The Academic Libraries Book Acquisition Systems Association, Inc. (ALBASA) will be celebrating its 45th  Annual General Assembly on May 16 - 18, 2018 at J Centre Convention Hall, 3rd Level, J Centre Mall, A.S. Fortuna Street, Bakilid, Mandaue City.  

This year’s theme is “ Nourishing The Professional and Personal Engagement of Library Service Providers: A Seminar-Workshop” with the following objectives:  

  • To provide continuous development for librarians and library staff, to keep abreast of the latest trends and technology in library and information science.
  • To recognize and appreciate the uniqueness of human nature for better interpersonal relationships.
  • To enhance the communication skills of library service providers specifically on report writing.
  • To update library service providers’ with the new trends in acquiring, organizing, and servicing of non-print resources.
  • To create a disaster preparedness plan for libraries.
  • To acquire skills in using various technologies to promote library services.
  • To provide avenue to member institutions to do live book selection for collection development.
  • To facilitate harmonious relationship among stakeholders, reliable partners, ALBASA management, and its members.

Please send your Chief Librarian or a duly designated representative who is familiar with your institution’s linkage with ALBASA, Inc. to attend the Business Meeting on May 16, 2018 and the Seminar and Fellowship Night on May 17-18, 2018.  Free seminar registration will be given to the first delegate of the institutions who reached the required annual patronage quota and have paid at least 70% of total purchases on or before April 30, 2018.  All other delegates will be assessed a seminar registration fee of Php 3,500.00 inclusive of seminar kit, certificate, hand-outs, 2 days morning and afternoon snacks and lunch (May 17-18, 2018) and participation in the Fellowship Night.  Let the Fellowship Night be your night, please come in your Blue Denim Revo attire.  There will be a dance contest during the Fellowship Night to the   tune of Blue Jeans.

Non-member participants may come on May 17-18, 2018 for the seminar and they are assessed a seminar registration fee of Php4,000.00 inclusive of seminar kit, certificate, hand-outs, 2 days morning and afternoon snacks and lunch and participation in the Fellowship Night.  Let the Fellowship Night be your night, please come in your Blue Denim attire.   

CHED endorsement and CPD Units are being applied for this conference.
